About me
I work with people who lose themselves, at work, in relationships or in their life. Sessions are in Hackney, East London (E1) and cost £80.
You say yes. You can't say no.
Perhaps at work you take on too much, or you take sole responsibility for a collective mistake. Now you're stressed, burning out and at the end of your tether.
Or perhaps in your relationship, you notice yourself skirting the arguments because you don't want to see your partner upset. Or you make yourself smaller because it's just easier that way.
Maybe you're in the midst of an addiction. You can keep it together when you're at work, or with your kids. But when you're alone, you can't stop. The feelings are too powerful.
Perhaps you grew up queer. You couldn't show up as yourself, so you learned to hide. You performed a version of yourself to stay safe, and now, you don't know what's the mask and what's you.
I help people un-sand their edges
I'll help you explore where you hide yourself. What are the parts of you that struggle to make themselves known in the world. What is it like to have them seen, if only by me. And what might it be like if this was your new reality.
What to expect
I work with people who hide parts of themselves. And so in therapy, we will get to know those parts. Not immediately, and not before you are ready. You can expect to feel safe, and listened to and seen. That experience, over time, allows more of you to come to the surface. And that can be transformational.
And it starts with a phone call. It's free, 15 minutes, and gives us a chance to get to know each other.
Training, qualifications & experience
I'm a BACP-registered relational integrative therapist. Integrative means I don't rely on one tradition or modality. If you don't fit the framework, we change the framework.
- MA in Psychotherapy, the Minster Centre (level 7; SCoPEd column C, the highest tier)
- Registered member of BACP (UKCP pending)
- Experience includes St Joseph's bereavement service in Hackney
- I contributed to a BBC Radio 4 programme on burnout (https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0026x15)
We're in this together.
Therapy is your time. But I'm here with you. I'll pay attention to what you're saying with your words, your tone and your body language. I'm interested in your life and what brought you here.
You don't need to look after me.
You might be used to looking after people, protecting them from sadness or overwhelm. You don't need to do that here.
I'm here.
I've trained for years to handle the difficult stuff, and the day-to-day. So give me a call. It's free, it's 15 minutes, and you can get a sense of me.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
