About me
I specialise in Eye-Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I am an accredited EMDR therapist which means that I have completed over 300 hours of EMDR therapy and been signed off to say that I am doing EMDR in the correct way. If you would like to do EMDR please ensure you use an accredited EMDR therapist to ensure that it is of a high quality. I am also CBT accredited.
I specialise in trauma treatment, PTSD, Depression, Worries, Phobias, OCD, Panic, Couples counselling and many other disorders.
I am available for online therapy to anyone in the UK.
Training, qualifications & experience
I initially trained as a counsellor, I then specialised in CBT therapy and in the last 4 years I have been practicing as an accredited EMDR therapist. I have over 10 years of experience working for the NHS and have treated over 1000 patients with various mental health disorders. I am aware that quality therapy can be hard to find which is why I am passionate about giving patients a positive experience of therapy. I achieve this by helping them understand WHY the problem has occurred and guiding them to make changes that will fix the problem long term. I love telling stories and analogies which help people to remember the lessons learned along the way. This approach has been extremely successful in helping my patients rediscover their ideal self.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
