About me

Amy Guise – Counsellor, NCPS Accredited Registrant
In-person, Online and Telephone Counselling for Adults and Young People (aged 15+).

I’m an integrative counsellor with a person-centred approach, meaning our work together is shaped around you, your experiences, and what feels most important to explore. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to each individual, drawing from a range of therapeutic models including CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and attachment theory.

I offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly and feel genuinely heard, whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, low in confidence, or simply in need of a place to untangle your thoughts and emotions. Starting counselling can feel daunting, especially if you’re used to carrying things on your own, so I aim to create an environment where you feel safe, accepted, and able to be yourself without fear of judgement. Together, we can make sense of the challenges you’re facing, deepen self-understanding, and work through things at a pace that feels comfortable and manageable for you.

I have multiple years experience working with young people in secondary school settings across Warwickshire, supporting them with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, anger, bereavement, self-esteem, relationships and family concerns, trauma, school avoidance, and self-harm.

I currently work with individuals aged 15 and over, in-person, online and telephone counselling for a more accessible option.

I offer a free 20-minute initial consultation, online or by phone, giving us a chance to see whether we feel like the right fit to work together.

If you’d like to arrange a consultation or have any questions, you’re very welcome to get in touch.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills
  • Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies
  • Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People (CYP)
  • I also hold a BSc in Psychology, which complements my counselling training and has deepened my understanding of relationships, mental health, and the emotional experiences that can shape how we move through life. Alongside empathy and genuine curiosity about each person’s unique story, my background in psychology allows me to bring an informed and thoughtful understanding to the therapeutic work I offer.
  • I regularly undertake CPD training to continue deepening and expanding my understanding in areas that feel especially meaningful to my work. My ongoing learning includes topics such as trauma and the body, generational trauma, neurodiversity, relationship dynamics, and the emotional wellbeing of both young people and adults. I value staying reflective and informed in my practice so I can offer thoughtful, responsive support to the people I work with.
