About me
Finding a counsellor can feel like an absolute minefield. When you are already stressed or feeling low, scrolling through pages of profiles can leave you feeling more overwhelmed than when you started. It’s difficult to know what you’re actually looking for, let alone whether the person on the other end is someone you can genuinely connect with.
Therapy with me is a down-to-earth, collaborative conversation. I offer a confidential space where you can be heard, and say the messy things out loud, paired with practical, tools to help you to understand what's going on underneath and how make actual changes.
Common things I help people with:
Anxiety & Low mood: Experiencing panic and phobias, thought spirals, feelings of dread, or generally just not feeling like yourself.
Life Transitions & Identity: Finding your footing when circumstances change unexpectedly, whether through a career shift, family change, or realising life looks different from what you planned.
Family dynamics: Working through recurring relationship friction, boundary-setting, and the exhaustion of trying to keep everyone else happy.
Grief & Loss: Giving you unhurried space to process sadness, anger, or altered life plans without any expectation to 'just move on'.
Reproductive Health & Family Pathways: Alongside general practice, I have specialist experience supporting clients through fertility, IVF, pregnancy loss, and hormonal health conditions.
Professional Background
I am a BACP-registered psychotherapist. Alongside my private practice, I serve as Chair of Daisy Network, the national charity supporting women with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI), contributing to psychological advocacy and medical guidance in reproductive health.

How I Work
Some people come to therapy with a clear focus, a specific life event, a difficult decision, or a crisis they want help navigating. Others reach out simply because they don't quite know what’s wrong, only that things feel off, or that they don't recognise the person they’ve become. You don’t need to have a neat, well-rehearsed problem ready before you contact me; working out what is going on is part of our work together.
My approach balances two elements:
Exploration of Your Story:
Earlier life events, family dynamics, past relationships, or how you were taught to handle difficult emotions often shape how you respond to pressure and uncertainty today. We can look at how those threads connect, not to dwell endlessly on the past, but to help you make sense of your reactions, stop blaming yourself, and keep old patterns from dictating your present.
Practical, Day-to-Day Coping:
Alongside holding the emotional weight, our work is firmly rooted in real life. We look at tangible ways to get through the week: quieting sudden surges of anxiety, deciding on healthy boundaries with others, navigating overwhelming social situations, or figuring out how to stay on the same team as your partner when you handle stress differently.
Where We Can Meet
I work with clients online across the UK via secure video call, and offer in-person sessions in North Tyneside (Tynemouth).
My first session
Initial Contact: You can get in touch via the contact form or by email. We will arrange a brief initial conversation or schedule your first full session.
First Session: Our first appointment is a 'getting to know you' session. It's opportunity to discuss what has brought you to therapy, what you feel you need right now, and whether we feel like a good match. There is no expectation to lay out your entire history at once, we move at whatever pace feels manageable for you.
Session Structure: Sessions are 50 minutes, usually held weekly or fortnightly depending on your needs, circumstances, and where you are on your journey.
Whether you are looking for short-term help during a difficult time, or longer-term space to process your history and make lifelong changes, I can support you through it.
Training, qualifications & experience
My clinical training includes diplomas in both adult and child & adolescent psychotherapeutic counselling.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
