About me
Hello and welcome. I’m Amanda, one of the counsellors that practices at The Counselling Room in Swansea. Counselling is about you and me talking about what is troubling you and finding a way we can work things out together. I believe that developing a trusting and empathic relationship with a counsellor is an essential part of that process. We all have the potential to be and do things differently but may not always realise that. I hope that counselling will help you to reach an acceptance and understanding of who you are, and that change is possible.
I practice in a humanistic way, This includes person centred therapy, where we explore who you are to become more in tune with your strengths and develop an appreciation of who you are. I also draw from narrative approaches, which include you telling your story and finding ways that you can view your concerns or problems in a new light.
