About me

Many people come to counselling feeling overwhelmed, stuck or carrying experiences that have not had space to be heard. You may be navigating grief or loss, anxiety, burnout, ADHD or a difficult life transition, or simply sensing that something in your life needs care and attention. I offer a calm, compassionate space where you can slow down, be heard and begin to explore what you are carrying at your own pace.

I am an accredited person-centred and psychotherapeutic counsellor with a special interest in anxiety, grief-tending and neuro-inclusive counselling, including ADHD. I offer counselling and grief work from Stroud and Painswick in Gloucestershire and also work online, making therapy accessible for people who are not local or who prefer to meet remotely.

My work is client-led and rooted in empathy, deep listening and relational presence and I offer a supportive space where you can explore your inner world and the experiences you bring. People come to counselling for many reasons - you may be experiencing grief or loss, anxiety, depression, burnout or overwhelm. You may be moving through a significant life transition or feeling that something within you needs attention, understanding or change.

Together we can gently explore what you are carrying in a way that is confidential, respectful and non-judgemental.

Alongside counselling, I also offer grief-tending work for people moving through bereavement, life changes, ecological grief or other forms of loss.
I work integratively, drawing on a range of counselling and grief-tending approaches and practices, always guided by what feels most supportive for you as an individual. My work has been influenced by transpersonal psychotherapy and grief practices from different cultural traditions.

My practice is trauma-informed and attentive to the ways lived experience, identity and systems of power can shape how we move through the world. I warmly welcome people of all neurotypes, sexual orientations, gender identities, cultural backgrounds and racialised experiences (for example, you may identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community or as part of the global majority). While I recognise that language around identity can sometimes feel limiting or othering, I share this to express my intention to offer a space that is respectful, inclusive and responsive to the whole of who you are.

My Painswick practice is accessible for people who use wheelchairs or have reduced mobility.

Reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step. If you would like to get a sense of whether working together might feel right, you are welcome to contact me for an initial conversation where we can talk about what you are looking for and any questions you may have.

Training, qualifications & experience

I completed my Level 4 training in Psychotherapeutic Counselling in Glastonbury at Sweet Track Counselling Services, within a learning environment that valued relational depth, self-reflection, and embodied practice. An important part of my training - and of how I continue to work - has been engaging in my own therapeutic process. This has given me a grounded understanding of what it can feel like to seek support, to sit with vulnerability and to build trust over time within a therapeutic relationship.

I bring over 20 years of experience working with people across a range of therapeutic and supportive settings. This includes extensive experience in both one-to-one work and group spaces, where holding a sense of safety and care for all involved is central to my approach.

Alongside private work, I have supported individuals and groups experiencing a wide range of life challenges, including grief and loss, emotional and mental health difficulties, life transitions, and experiences that touch the spiritual or existential layers of being human.

I am fully insured as a professional counsellor and committed to ethical practice and continuing professional development. I am a member of BACP, NCPS and BAATN.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

NCPS
National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
