About me
I believe that the things we have lived through can shape how we see ourselves, how we relate to others and how safe we feel in the world. Sometimes the ways we learned to cope or survive were exactly what we needed at the time, but later those same patterns can leave us feeling stuck, disconnected or unsure of who we are.
Therapy can offer a space to understand those parts of ourselves with curiosity and compassion, rather than judgement.
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and an integrative counsellor working from a trauma-informed perspective. At the heart of my approach is the belief that therapy should fit the person, rather than expecting the person to fit the therapy.
My core approach draws on Person-Centred and Psychodynamic therapy, while integrating elements of other approaches, including CBT and Transactional Analysis, where these may be helpful. This allows us to explore not only what you are experiencing now, but also the experiences, relationships and patterns that may have shaped how you came to be here.
I specialise in working with trauma, domestic and sexual abuse, childhood abuse, addiction and complex mental health. I also work with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, identity, grief and loss, and people who may simply feel that something in their life needs to change but aren't yet sure what that looks like.
Trauma can affect far more than our memories. It can influence relationships, boundaries, trust, self-worth and the ways we respond when we feel unsafe. My approach is not about asking, "What's wrong with you?" but about becoming curious about what has happened to you, what you learned to do in order to survive it, and what you might need now.
Most importantly, I see the therapeutic relationship as something we build together. I won't tell you who you should be or pretend to have all the answers. I will offer you honesty, warmth, curiosity and a space where all parts of you are welcome, including the parts you may have learned to hide from other people.
You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to say. We can start wherever you are.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am currently completing an MSc in Psychology, continuing to deepen my understanding of psychological theory, trauma and human behaviour.
Alongside my counselling practice, I have spent many years working within specialist mental health, domestic and sexual abuse, criminal justice and substance misuse services. I have previously managed mental health crisis services across Hertfordshire and domestic and sexual abuse services across London, Hertfordshire and Essex, including work alongside the prison service. I currently manage a drug and alcohol treatment service in London.
My counselling placements also gave me the privilege of working therapeutically with people experiencing trauma, abuse and a wide range of mental health and emotional difficulties. Together, these experiences mean that I am comfortable working with complexity and understand that people's lives rarely fit neatly into a single diagnosis, experience or label.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
My session fees range from £30–£150, depending on the type of session and individual circumstances. I believe therapy should be accessible where possible, so I offer a limited number of reduced-fee/concessionary spaces. We can discuss fees and what feels appropriate before beginning our work together.

At present, I offer counselling online via video, with telephone sessions also available where preferred or appropriate, allowing you to access therapy from a private and comfortable space wherever you are in the UK
