About me

My name is Alisa Serik, and I am a psychologist and psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapist. My work involves utilizing psychoanalytic methods to help my clients achieve a deep understanding of their emotions, thoughts, and behaviours.

Based in London, I offer online therapy via Zoom globally, exclusively in Russian.

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is a profound and intensive form of talk therapy that enables the exploration of the origins of emotional issues and facilitates their fundamental transformation.

The goal is not only to alleviate symptoms of distress but also to foster an awareness of one's destructive impulses and conflicts, promoting the discovery of internal resources to stimulate personal development. In my practice, I adhere to principles of confidentiality and uphold high ethical standards.

Training, qualifications & experience

I was born and raised in Moscow, Russia, where I also received my higher education. I graduated from the "Institute of Applied Psychology in the Social Sphere" with a program in "Consultative Psychology: Effective Strategies for Practical Psychological Assistance," and later from the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) with a Master's degree in "Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy."

I am a Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the American Psychological Association (APA). I continuously enhance my qualifications by regularly participating in theoretical and practical seminars led by prominent international psychoanalysts, members of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA).

Additionally, I undergo regular individual supervision with a candidate of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA)

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
