About me

I work with people who may be experiencing, anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, burnout, depression, lack of confidence, overwhelm, people pleasing tendencies, trauma, stress, abuse (sexual) and phobias.

My practice is grounded in authenticity and empathy, creating a safe and supportive space where you can explore your emotions, thoughts, motives and intentions. I understand that life can feel overwhelming at times and I am here to support you through those times. As an integrative therapist, I will draw on a variety of tools and approaches to support you in a way that best suits your unique needs. Simply put, integrative therapy means I will tailor my approach to meet you where you are, adapting to what you bring during each session. I’m not here to tell you what you ‘should’ be focussing on, more to support you and help you understand what your values are and how you can prioritise them.

We will work with curiosity and reflection to uncover any patterns of behaviour and gain deeper insights into your life experiences. Together, we’ll work toward fostering healthier relationships and cultivating an inner world that feels grounded, peaceful, and aligned with who you truly are.

A few client testimonials;

“Alis has helped me tremendously over the last few months. I am neurodivergent and carry a lot of different trauma - she has been amazing with helping me become more accepting of my behaviours and trauma responses. Sessions with her have given me a deeper understanding of myself and I am so thankful for her warmth and compassion, she’s very easy to talk to and I feel lighter after our sessions.”

“I would completely recommend working with Alis, she makes me feel safe, comfortable and she’s easy to open up to, which is not easy to do for someone with autism. Alis has really helped me gain perspective and validates my feelings and reactions to situations (where appropriate) which is something I struggle with personally, so this has helped me grown and develop and understand my neurodiversity but also the impact of other people and my upbringing on who I am as a person.”

”I had a bad experience with another Therapist and went back to the directory to find a new Therapist to work with. I had introductory meetings with a few to make sure this time I found the right person for me. Alis stood out from the crowd for me after chatting to her on the phone. Her method of working, and connecting the mind to the physicality of the body and how each can affect the other really resonated with me. We have been working together for a fair few months now and the progress I have made even in this short time, is a testament to how wonderful Alis is. She challenges me, tries to make me retrain my brain and way of thinking, but is never judgemental and always open and accepting. Could not recommend her enough!”

I felt genuinely heard in my sessions. She remembered intricate details from previous conversations, which immediately set her apart from other therapists I’ve worked with. She showed real concern and care, and it never felt scripted or clinical.

“She gave me genuinely insightful perspectives and helped me learn a great deal about myself. Her approach was practical and tailored to me. She suggested optional exercises and reflections only when she felt they would be genuinely beneficial, and shared reading materials that actively supported my development. There was a clear, authentic desire to help me understand myself better and become a better person.

She was human, down to earth, and real, which made it easy to connect and do the work. Quite simply, she was brilliant.”

Further information

Therapy has the power to change your life because it fundamentally helps you understand more about your relationship with yourself. The concept of ‘know thyself’ (thanks Socrates) can become increasingly important if life becomes challenging. Being curious about this concept can support your therapeutic journey. As you learn the meanings behind your unconscious patterns and how your inner world translates to your outer world, having someone to help with this process is key to embracing change and gaining confidence in ‘self’.

As we get older, the patterns we form in childhood can often continue to support us, help us live a fulfilled and joy-centred existence, but sometimes, through no fault of our own, and because of life’s frequent challenges, we might reach a point where we need to explore how we got to where we are, and take some time to pause and reflect. It may be that life has become overwhelming and feels unmanageable, there may have been trauma that has been repressed, relationships may feel dysfunctional, or you may simply need someone to talk to that can support you, whatever brings you to therapy I’m here to listen.
