About me

I’m a qualified Person-Centred Experiential Counsellor offering a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted.

I believe that everyone is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to support you in exploring your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace. Together, we can make sense of what you are going through and explore what might help you move forward.

I work collaboratively with clients and aim to create a safe space where you can be open and honest without fear of judgement. Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, so I offer an initial conversation where we can discuss what you're looking for and whether I might be the right counsellor for you.

I offer online counselling sessions in the UK to over 18s. I have flexibility in my availability, so can offer some evening and weekend appointments. For more information about the service I offer, you can visit my website.

If you feel that you might benefit from counselling, please feel free to get in touch. I'd be happy to hear from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor with a Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice, with training grounded in the Person-Centred Experiential approach.

My training has provided me with a strong understanding of counselling theory and practice, ethical and professional practice, therapeutic relationships, and working collaboratively with clients.

Alongside my counselling training, I have a particular interest in body image and self-esteem, and my postgraduate research explored the lived experiences of individuals experiencing Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD).

Over the years, I have gained experience supporting people with a wide range of personal difficulties and life experiences. I have worked across a variety of complex mental health settings, developing a deeper understanding of the challenges people can face and the importance of providing compassionate, person-centred support, particularly when someone is experiencing a crisis.

As part of my counselling training, I completed a counselling placement within a domestic abuse service, supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse and the impact it can have on their wellbeing and relationships.

I also have professional experience working with substance use across both young people and adults. This has given me an understanding of the complex ways substance use can affect individuals, their relationships and those around them.

I am committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice to continue developing my knowledge and skills as a counsellor.

I work within the BACP's professional and ethical guidelines and receive regular supervision as part of my ongoing practice.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
