About me
Hi, I’m Alex. I'm a psychosexual and relationship therapist and qualified social worker with almost a decade of experience supporting people through complex emotional, relational and sexual difficulties.
I work with individuals and couples navigating sex, intimacy, relationships, desire, betrayal, shame, compulsive sexual behaviours, communication difficulties, sexual confidence, kink, BDSM, non-traditional relationships, and the general messiness of being human.
Sex and relationships can feel complicated. Sometimes things stop working the way they used to. Sometimes shame gets in the way. Sometimes you feel disconnected from your partner, stuck in the same argument on repeat, or unsure how you ended up where you are. Other times, you may simply want to understand yourself better; your sexuality, fantasies, desires, identity, or what feels authentic to you.
Therapy with me is warm, direct, collaborative and non-judgemental. I’m not the kind of therapist who sits silently nodding while you do all the hard work. I bring honesty, curiosity and practical support into the room. We may laugh, cry, swear a little, challenge old patterns, and talk about the things that often feel “too awkward” or “too much” to say out loud.
Alongside private practice, I have extensive experience as a social worker and within children and family mental health services (CAMHS), including specialist roles involving trauma, attachment, relationships, emotional wellbeing and sexual behaviour. My approach is integrative, meaning I tailor therapy to you, rather than forcing you into a one-size-fits-all approach.
I offer a sex-positive, LGBTQ+ inclusive, kink-aware and neurodiversity-affirming space where all parts of you are welcome.
I commonly support clients with:
- Sex and intimacy concerns
- Relationship difficulties and communication challenges
- Desire discrepancy and mismatched libido
- Erectile difficulties, orgasm difficulties, painful sex and sexual confidence
- Compulsive sexual behaviours / problematic pornography use
- Betrayal, trust, affairs and rebuilding after rupture
- Exploring sexuality, identity, fantasies and kink/BDSM
- Shame, anxiety and self-esteem linked to sex and relationships
Consensual non-monogamy and alternative relationship structures - Dating, attachment and recurring relationship patterns
Nothing is off limits here. You do not need to have the “right words” or have everything figured out before starting therapy.
If you’re looking for a therapist who is human, straight-talking and genuinely understands how complicated sex and relationships can feel, I’d love to hear from you.
