About me

You don’t need to be in crisis to come to therapy. Maybe life just isn’t feeling the way you thought it would by now, and you’re not sure what to do about it. Or maybe you're navigating a difficult circumstance, or feeling lonely. These are completely valid reasons to start therapy.

I’m Alex, I am a BACP accredited counsellor/psychotherapist, and I’ll be honoured to work with you.

Therapy with me will feel welcoming, supportive, and insightful. I will give you the space and support to slow down, make sense of things, and begin to move forward with more clarity and confidence.

Over the years, I’ve supported many people with:

  • Feeling anxious and overthinking.
  • Low self-confidence or constant self-doubt.
  • Struggles in relationships, whether romantic, family or friendships.
  • Big life changes or feeling lost in direction.
  • Neurodiversity, including ADHD and autism.
  • A general sense of disconnection, depression, or flatness.

You might not even know how to describe what you’re feeling, and that’s completely okay. You don’t need to have the words. That’s part of what we'll figure out together.

My role is to support you in understanding yourself more deeply, navigating life situations with greater wisdom, communicating more effectively, and feeling more connected to yourself and to the people who matter the most to you.

Therapy with me isn’t one-size-fits-all. I draw from a range of approaches so we will shape the process around what works best for you, your personality, and what you’re hoping to get out of it. The work is thoughtful and purposeful, but also responsive to who you are and what you need.

If this is your first time considering therapy, it’s completely normal to feel unsure. But trust me, it will be worth it!

For now just reach out and we'll figure the rest, together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Testimonials from previous clients:

“Alex was truly excellent as a therapist throughout our numerous sessions. Alex's approach is clearly focused around the needs of the client and promotes an honest and explorative conversation around how to deal with difficulties in life. I can't recommend Alex enough to people who are either going to therapy for the first time, or who have had therapy before.”
