About me
I am a qualified Dramatherapist (Creative Psychotherapist), registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, working across Merseyside with children, young people, and adults. I offer both individual and group therapy, creating thoughtful, supportive spaces where people can explore, grow, and begin to make sense of their experiences.
At the heart of my work is a genuine belief in the importance of feeling safe, accepted, and truly heard. I aim to offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can gently explore emotions that may feel difficult to put into words. I understand that opening up can feel daunting, so we move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
My approach is person-centred, meaning our work together is guided by you, your experiences, your needs, and what feels most helpful. Whether through talking, creativity, or simply having a space to reflect, we can find a way of working that feels right for you.
I have supported individuals experiencing a broad range of emotional and psychological challenges, including trauma. My professional experience includes roles within the National Health Service in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), as well as at YPAS, where I worked with children and young people to support their emotional wellbeing. I also bring significant experience in working with neurodivergent individuals, including those with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and ADHD. I understand that traditional talking therapies are not always suitable for everyone, so I tailor my approach to suit each person’s individual needs. I view providing psychological support as a privilege and approach my work with care, professionalism, and compassion.
My Approach
While my core training is in Dramatherapy, I work in a creative and adaptable way, offering a variety of approaches to help people explore and make sense of their inner experiences. I understand that thoughts and feelings are not always easy to put into words, and that expression can take many forms. Creative and symbolic ways of working can provide powerful opportunities for insight, reflection, and healing.
Therapy is shaped around you. You are in control of what we explore and how we work together. For some, this may mean talking things through, while for others it may involve using creativity, imagination, or metaphor to express what feels difficult to say.
What to Expect in a Session
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s natural to feel unsure about what to expect. My aim is to create a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space where you can feel comfortable being yourself.
In our first session, we will take time to talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you might hope to gain from the process. There is no pressure to share more than you feel ready to, and we will move at a pace that feels right for you.
Sessions are person-centred, which means you are free to guide what we explore together. Some sessions may involve talking, while others may include creative or expressive approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you.
Please do not let the word ‘drama’ scare you. Although I specialise within drama, I can implement other means of creativity within sessions. However, this is optional as sessions are led by you. I will always consider your preferences, ensuring you feel comfortable when beginning your therapeutic journey and throughout.
Training, qualifications & experience
YPAS (Young Persons Advisory Service) - Children's Psychological Therapist
While working at YPAS Liverpool, I provided therapeutic support to children and young people experiencing a range of emotional and psychological difficulties. My role involved delivering one-to-one, person-centred therapeutic interventions, supporting young people to explore and express complex emotions within a safe and creative therapeutic environment.
I used a range of creative and developmentally appropriate approaches, including dramatherapy techniques, play, and expressive methods, to support children who may have found it difficult to communicate their experiences through traditional talking therapy.
Through this role, I gained significant experience working with young people presenting with anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, and neurodivergent needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
CAMHS (NHS) - Mental Health Practitioner and Dramatherapist
While working within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services at the National Health Service, I supported adolescents presenting with a wide range of complex emotional and psychological needs.
In this role, I delivered therapeutic interventions to young people presenting with a range of psychological difficulties, including trauma, attachment-related challenges, anxiety, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I also provided support to young people navigating identity development, including those exploring or identifying as transgender, ensuring a respectful, affirming, and psychologically safe space for exploration.
I worked closely as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside psychologists, psychiatrists, family therapists, social workers, and other mental health professionals to ensure holistic and coordinated care. This collaborative approach supported the development of comprehensive care plans tailored to the individual needs of each young person.
Within this setting, I gained extensive experience supporting adolescents presenting with high-risk and complex behaviours. My work involved creating a safe therapeutic space where young people could explore difficult emotions, process traumatic experiences, and develop greater emotional understanding and resilience.
