About me
Hello, I’m Aimee, a qualified and registered Person-Centred Counsellor and a member of the BACP.
I offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. I believe that every person has the capacity for growth and change when they feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted.
My approach is rooted in the core person-centred values of empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. Rather than directing or advising, I work alongside you, helping you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships, and the challenges you may be facing.
I have experience supporting clients with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, trauma, attachment issues, life transitions, and personal growth. I am passionate about helping people develop greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and confidence in their ability to navigate life’s challenges.
Whether you are experiencing a difficult period in your life or simply seeking a space to reflect and understand yourself more fully, I aim to provide a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship where meaningful change can occur.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I understand that starting counselling can feel like a big step, particularly if you have never accessed therapy before. My aim is to provide a space where you feel comfortable bringing all parts of yourself without fear of judgement.
As a Person-Centred Counsellor, I believe you are the expert in your own life. Rather than offering advice or telling you what to do, I will support you in exploring your experiences, emotions, and relationships, helping you to gain greater self-awareness and clarity.
I have a particular interest in attachment, relationships, self-esteem, and the impact that early life experiences can have on how we view ourselves and connect with others. I am passionate about supporting clients to develop self-compassion, healthier relationships, and a stronger sense of self.
I am committed to creating an inclusive and affirming environment where all individuals are welcomed and respected regardless of age, culture, background, identity, or life experience.
If you have any questions about counselling or would like to discuss how I may be able to support you, please feel free to get in touch.
