About me
Life can be challenging and having a counsellor to walk alongside you is a powerful way to process thoughts, feelings and support the changes you want to make. Life events can be disorientating and I can help guide you to think and feel with a renewed clarity. I'll work alongside you to further your self understanding, identify unhelpful patterns which are no longer serving you and offer you tools to gain more self-acceptance and self-compassion.
I work predominantly with anxiety and low self-esteem. I have guided many people towards letting go of unhelpful patterns and gaining self-acceptance. I have an interest in supporting people to gain deeper understanding of their unique nervous system, the history behind this nervous system and how this impacts their day to day. The people who have worked with me describe me as warm and open with a non-judgmental approach yet challenging when this is required.
Therapy is a safe place to explore your authentic self and potentially find more self-acceptance for all parts of self even those that may have been subconsciously rejected. Inclusivity is a key value which underpins my practice.
In addition to in person therapy at my office in Edinburgh, I offer walk and talk therapy using nature as part of the therapeutic process although every individual is different and your therapy will be tailored to you, your preferences and needs. I also offer evening appointments for those who need this as counselling during the day is not always practical.
Everyone can benefit from therapy, self reflection and the resulting self acceptance. Life can be challenging and we can experience a myriad of emotions: anxiety, despair, frustration, anger, joy, skepticism, hope, hopelessness...the list goes on. These emotions are natural and valid and all have a place. We can feel lost and benefit from some support on the way to living the life we want and deserve.
Please contact me if you would like to arrange a 15 minute call to explore if we are the right fit. See my website for further details.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
