About me

Hi there and thank you for visiting my page

What I can offer

My name is Aileen and I am Person-Centred Counsellor working in the West End and Glasgow City areas. I have been qualified for a number of years and have significant experience of working with, but not limited to, the following issues:

  • Relationship difficulties
  • Friendship difficulties
  • Family dynamic difficulties
  • Exploring LGBTQ+ identity
  • Loss, grief, bereavement
  • Change and transition in life
  • Pregnancy and fertility
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Self esteem
  • Trauma
  • Life changing illness diagnosis and transition

How counselling can help

From my experience, clients frequently come to me for counselling as they find it too difficult to speak to family, friends and partners about challenging or unsettling issues or feelings. The counselling room offers the neutral space that can allow you to talk openly, freely and without judgement.

Some of the outcomes of Person Centred Therapy can be:

  • Making peace or gain understanding of the past, so that you can start living in the present.
  • Strengthening your self-esteem.
  • Improved relationships with others.
  • Improved decision and choice making abilities regarding your life.

I aim to provide a professional and relaxed atmosphere in order for you to explore what you feel is important and to bring about changes you want to make in your life.

Work can be long-term or short-term and this may become more apparent during therapy.

Availability and fees

I have availability on Fridays ONLY.

My fees are £40 per 50 minute session.
As a member of BACP I work within their ethical guidelines and also partake in regular supervision and cpd.

About me

I am a member of the BACP, PVG and hold my own insurance.

I am also an experienced free-lance trainer and lecturer of counselling, I have been working in all three areas for a number of years and feel they complement each other well.

In addition to private practice I have also spent significant time working as a Counsellor for both Crossreach, Scotland and the Lesbian and Gay Foundation, Manchester. Prior to my counselling career I was employed in the homeless sector and within a Macmillan Cancer Support funded programme.
