About me

I am a qualified counsellor with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling .I'm  currently specialising in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

I am an integrative counsellor. This means that I use different techniques from different types of therapy to tailor an approach specifically for you. Whilst working mainly from a Person-Centred approach, I also draw on Psychodynamic Therapy, CB,T and Transactional Analysis where appropriate. I have worked with a range of clients from different backgrounds and with various issues, including depression, anxiety, low mood, relationship issues, bereavement, low self-esteem, abuse (sexual & domestic violence), work difficulties, and dealing with terminal illness.

In sessions with me, clients often say they feel listened to, understood, and at ease. I aim to create a space that feels safe, relaxed, and free of judgement, where you can talk about whatever is on your mind. Counselling isn’t about me having all the answers – it’s about us working together, at your pace, to make sense of what’s going on for you.

My style is warm, gentle, and collaborative. I’ll listen closely to your story, and together we’ll explore what matters most to you. Sometimes that means looking at patterns or emotions that keep showing up, and other times it’s about focusing on practical ways to cope day-to-day. I try to keep sessions grounded and real, balancing reflection with practical support so you can take small, meaningful steps forward.

What I hope to bring to our work is a genuine connection – someone who sits alongside you without judgement, offering encouragement and perspective when you need it. My aim is for you to leave counselling with a stronger sense of yourself, more tools to lean on, and a little more hope for the road ahead.

My background is in psychology, where I hold an MSc and a BSc. I lectured and taught psychology for many years, and during my time in education, I was a pastoral tutor to students aged 14-18. In this role, I supported students experiencing many types of challenges and problems, including anxiety, self-harm, sexual health issues, sexual dilemmas, domestic problems, cyberbullying, and relationship problems.

I work in person and offer online counseling or walk-and-talk therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
