About me

There are times in life you can feel that you need some help. Anxiety and depression are becoming more and more present in our society. Maybe you are finding it hard to cope with the day-to-day, struggling to deal with something from your past; or you are looking to live a more fulfilled life. Whatever your need is, having someone to talk to, who is separate from your friends and/or family, can be just what is needed. This is where therapy can help.

My Integrative approach is based on Person-Centred theory, which believes that individuals flourish when they are in a supportive psychological setting that encourages their innate thirst for personal development. My purpose is not to offer all the solutions outright, but rather to establish a secure, accepting environment for individuals to delve into self-discovery.

I am a fully qualified therapist and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am based in Sheffield and I offer individual therapy for people of all genders (18+), including the LGBTQ+ community, both online and in-person. I am fluent in both English and Portuguese and I strive to make therapy accessible and welcoming to everyone.

The initial session typically focuses on us getting to know each other and determining if I am the right therapist for you. I understand that beginning counselling can be overwhelming, so perhaps we could schedule a chat to explore this further and decide on the next steps together.

Whilst clients come to me for many different reasons, I specialise in trauma and sexual abuse.

If you're ready to take the next step in your journey, I'm here to support you.

I can offer sessions in the evenings and at weekends depending on availability.

Training, qualifications & experience

I graduated with a Professional Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, honing my expertise in therapeutic practices. My professional background includes providing therapy services for individuals who have experienced trauma, sexual and domestic abuse where I have witnessed the transformative impact of counselling first hand. Drawing from personal experience, I recognize the invaluable support that counselling offers, especially when seeking guidance beyond familiar networks.

Before transitioning into the field of therapy, my career spanned as a hotel manager across various international locations, where I cultivated diverse experiences and skills.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
