About me

I am a qualified and experienced Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist working from my practice near South Molton. I offer a free consultation for us to discuss your particular needs and understand more about the process of working together. I work with adults, couples and young people in a confidential and caring environment for both short and long term therapy.

From time to time, we all experience areas of our life that provide challenge, anxiety and uncertainty such as:

  • bereavement
  • loss
  • relationship breakdown or changes in circumstance.

Sometimes we have particular issues that we wish to work through that may be new to us or may have caused us limitations throughout our life or we may be concerned about our general wellbeing.

We may experience sadness or feel stuck, be dissatisfied or troubled, feel excessive emotion or none at all and not have the answers.

My Approach

My approach to counselling and psychotherapy is to work by addressing what is troubling you in a way in which you find comfortable and helpful. Understanding you and your particular concerns and what has brought you to counselling at this time, helps us to determine together whether your needs are likely to be short or long term and your personal therapeutic goals.

It is likely that during therapy we will want to discuss what is going on for you in the present, elements of the past and how to move forward into the future in a more positive way and perhaps to give you ways of coping that are more beneficial for you.

Counselling is primarily a talking therapy but sometimes talking can be difficult and I am happy to use complementary tools such as working with images, journals and dreams to help us in the process and hypnotherapy, meditation and mindfulness where individuals would benefit from relaxation or creating positive internal beliefs.

I also offer wellbeing coaching over a 10 week period to enable you to set your own wellbeing goals and develop a wellbeing structure for yourself that is sustainable in the long term.

Training, qualifications & experience

As an integrated counsellor, I am able to draw on a variety of methods and styles to suit you which include person-centered therapy, psychoanalysis, transactional analysis, cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness and hypnotherapy, creative and dream work.

My qualifications include:

  • Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling
  • Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling
  • MSc in Psychotherapy and Healing
  • Diploma in Hypnotherapy
  • Diploma in Nutrition

I am an accredited member of the National Counselling Society and National Hypnotherapy Society.
