Finding a counsellor can be daunting! You’re faced with a number of questions that you may not yet have the answers to – what qualifications should I be looking for? How will I know who is right for me? What is the right kind of price to pay? What if I don’t feel comfortable talking to this person?
Before we begin our work together, I offer a consultation session, free of charge, where we talk through all of these things and any other questions or concerns you may have. If this sounds like a good step forward for you then please get in touch and we can arrange a time to talk.
In the meantime I’ll let you know a bit about me as you may want to look into the different types of therapy I offer before we talk.
I work in an integrative way, drawing upon my qualifications and experience to offer a a responsive and dynamic way of working depending on your needs. I offer short term therapy which may suit people who would benefit from a toolkit of coping strategies to help specific aspects of their mental health – such as anxiety, stress or sleep difficulties for example. Or we can work longer term if you feel you would benefit from a more exploratory way of working together where we would talk in depth about your life experiences and how these have impacted you.
My aim in supporting you is to build a safe, confidential space where you feel you can place trust in me to share the things that are troubling you. We work at a pace which is right for you, for the length of time that is right for you. There is no one size fits all and we will work together to ensure that you get the most out of the therapy and come away feeling that you can live a life that is fulfilling for you.

Training, qualifications & experience
I’ve been a qualified therapist for 10 years.
I hold an MSc in Counselling Psychology and a BSc in Applied Psychology.
I also have further specialist training in a trauma treating psychotherapy called Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness Meditation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

In addition to one-to-one therapy I offer short courses which can be done in groups or individually. The courses I am running at the moment are -
Managing Stress and Anxiety - a 6 week course designed to teach tools and techniques to help people struggling with stress and anxiety.
Coping with the Covid-19 Pandemic - a 6 week course designed to teach tools and techniques to help people during this time of change.
