About me
Hi, my name is Abbie. I am a warm, empathetic, and welcoming person with a profound passion for assisting and guiding individuals through their life journeys. My approach is grounded in understanding and compassion. I am committed to offering the support and guidance necessary to navigate life's challenges whether you are striving to overcome obstacles, seeking clarity, or simply needing a compassionate listener.
I offer counselling for a diverse range of needs, including anxiety, depression, bereavement, domestic abuse, low self esteem, relationship issues, and many more. Each of these areas presents unique challenges, and I am equipped with the skills and understanding to provide tailored support for each situation.
I hold a degree in Pluralistic Counselling, a therapeutic approach that recognises the value of multiple perspectives and approaches in therapy. Pluralistic counselling is tailored to each person’s unique needs, drawing from a variety of techniques and practices to find the most effective path for each individual. This approach ensures that your personal experiences, preferences, and goals are at the forefront of our work together, providing a comprehensive and adaptable framework to support your journey toward emotional well-being.
Each person has unique needs and desires on their life journey, whether it is seeking direction or simply needing a compassionate and empathetic listener. I offer a warm and safe space where you can be your authentic self, providing the support and understanding necessary for you to explore your path and achieve personal growth. My goal is to create an environment where you feel valued and heard, enabling you to navigate life's challenges with confidence and clarity.
I also have experience in working with children and young people, I use things like play therapy to create that safe space all children and young people need to help explore their thoughts and feelings.
If you are interested in exploring this further or have any questions, please contact me. We can arrange a free initial 20-minute consultation to discuss our potential work together and help you decide if counselling with me is the right path for you.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
