About me
Hi, I’m Abbie,
I’m a warm, empathetic, and approachable counsellor with a genuine passion for supporting individuals as they navigate life’s challenges. My approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and respect, creating a safe, non-judgemental space where you can feel truly heard, understood, and supported.
I work with a wide range of emotional, psychological, and relational difficulties, including:
Anxiety and stress
Depression and low mood
Bereavement and loss
Trauma and domestic abuse
Low self-esteem and confidence
Relationship and interpersonal difficulties
Emotional dysregulation and behavioural challenges
…and many more
Every person’s experience is unique, so I tailor my therapeutic approach to meet your individual needs. I draw from a pluralistic counselling framework, which means I integrate different therapeutic models and techniques depending on what works best for you. Together, we can explore practical coping strategies, emotional understanding, and meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you. Your voice, choices, and autonomy are always central to the work we do.
Alongside my counselling practice, I have extensive experience working across a variety of mental health and care settings. I currently work in a school supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) and behavioural difficulties, where I help young people develop emotional regulation, resilience, and communication skills within a structured and supportive environment.
I also work within a private mental health hospital, supporting individuals in a step-down setting from Tier 4 services, where clients often require continued therapeutic input following acute or intensive care. In addition, I bring my counselling skills into residential settings, supporting individuals with complex needs in their day-to-day environments. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of a wide range of presentations, from mild to highly complex mental health needs, across both young people and adults.
I also have experience working with children and young people using creative and play-based therapeutic techniques, helping them express thoughts and emotions in ways that feel natural, safe, and empowering.
My aim is to provide a consistent, supportive space where you feel valued, respected, and understood. Whether you are seeking clarity, coping strategies, emotional support, or simply a place to talk without judgement, I am here to walk alongside you on your journey toward growth and wellbeing.
I offer a free 20-minute consultation so we can explore your needs and see whether working together feels like the right fit. There is no pressure—just an opportunity to connect and see how I can best support you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
