About me
I am a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, working with adults, couples, children and young people. I have professionally worked with children and young people in school settings, and adults in mental health settings and have worked closely with young asylum seekers. I have worked with a range of different difficulties such as personality disorders, eating disorders, ASD, childhood trauma and identity struggles. I am currently only working online.
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy means that I work with the unconscious processes and help you understand current conscious issues. We also explore childhood experiences together and it is considered a big part of the work that is involved.
I have particular interest in supporting people with;
- complex trauma
- gender issues
- sexuality issues
- anger issues
- understanding their diagnosis/understanding their diagnoses
- relationship issues
- identity issues

Experience
My first venture in this area of work started at a children’s nursery working closely with the children. I was fascinated by the different dynamics that were at play in the nursery as an organisation, the children and their families, and each staff member’s lives. I was also interested in learning more about the different disorders some of the children had and how they experienced things differently from others. This set me on course to start my first degree and move professionally in a different direction.
I worked as a Youth Worker and worked closely with adolescents struggling with inner difficulties. Hearing about their childhood traumas and experiences helped me see how they impact the person significantly later in life.
I worked at a mental health hospital and started at a women’s personality disorder ward. Here I learnt more about the individual’s anxieties and how they manifested into something more severe. I worked closely with patients who would speak of their own experiences and traumas as children which helped me solidify what modality I wanted to work with. I worked in the adolescent ward after this where I supported young adolescents with their own traumas. Most of the adolescents had an ASD diagnosis and had a lack of understanding of what this meant to them. This involved some psychoeducation work with the adolescents so that they understood themselves and how they differed from others with ASD.
I then worked for a company who worked closely with young adults who travelled to the UK to seek asylum. Most of the young people that I worked with had complex trauma. As well as helping them with their skills, I would at times be that person to speak to when things were difficult and/or when things were complex.
I am currently working for a charity who support Autistic children from 6 months old to five years old. This requires me to work closely with Occupational Therapy and the Lead Therapist.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
