I am also an experienced supervisor.
I currently work for in EAPs (Employee Assistance programmes) concerning workplace issues- bullying and harassment, trauma,stress,redundancy and personal issues including couple counselling, bereavement and relationships..
Rehabilitation - to empower employees to return to work is a major part of this work.
Another important area of my work is medical legal work including road accidents ,
personal injuries and workplace injuries. I work with insurance companies,psychological services, rehabilitation, medico-legal companies and solicitors. I also work with asylum seekers .
I became a counsellor because I had bereavement counselling following my father's death from cancer. I found this counselling very helpful and supportive and I wanted to help other people to ensure that they too could benefit from counselling too. I believe that we have inherent personal resources to cope with life's demands and issues but sometimes we need extra support. We are all individuals with our own different personalities and issues.
I am based in Edgware in North West London. I am available as a one-to-one counsellor in London on weekdays, evenings and I have some weekend slots too.

Counselling can be a tremendous help if you have problems. You can benefit from talking through and exploring your thoughts and feelings. This talking therapy can help you to offload your burdens and problems. Most people experience emotional difficulties at some point in their lives which can be resolved without professional help. However, some difficulties cannot easily be resolved and seeing a suitably qualified therapist can be very useful during these periods.
Therapy provides time for deep self-reflection. It always provides an opportunity to discover often complex and largely unknown ways in which past experiences are unhelpfully influencing the present. This can inhibit intellectual and emotional development.
CBT can also help with coping strategies in your life. CBT is extremely useful in reducing anxiety particularly panic attacks, phobias, OCD ,social anxiety, health anxiety,road traffic anxiety and low self-esteem, PTSD (Post traumatic Stress Disorder). Also, CBT is a very useful tool to help combat depression ,eating disorders and anger management. I also do stress management.
I am also very experienced in relationship and couple counselling. Also, I counsel adolescents.

As well as working in my private practice, I work in a GPs practice. I trained at Highgate Counselling Centre which over a long period of time, gave me the opportunity of working with clients of all ages and all different issues. I also worked at Age Concern with the elderly and at Barnet Carers. I work for Mind as an assessor for individuals with mental health issues.
Also, I worked at Brent Alcohol Counselling Services , with clients with alcohol dependency and helping them to reduce their drinking and finally abstain. Also, I work with adolescents and adults with drug problems to help them reduce and finally abstain and face their issues.
I also supervise other counsellors both in an agency setting and also privately.
Also, I work as an affiliate counsellor for EAPs (Employer Assisted Programmes) dealing with issues in the workplace like stress management,critical incident debriefing, bullying, work phobia, redundancy and career counselling. I specialize in road traffic anxiety and other traumas like rape, domestic violence and bereaveements,also performance anxiety and stress management. I practice stress management using breathing exercises and visualization.
I am also an EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) Practitioner specializing in Trauma.
I am also working as a facilitator in Domestic Violence groups for Harrow PCT and worked at BACS as a facilitator for a carer's group for substance abusers .

Parking is available and it is easy to reach on the Northern Line, at Edgware Station and on the Jubilee line at Canons Park Station. It is only a few minutes walk from either station.
If you decide that counselling is for you, we can meet to discuss this. The standard procedure is to meet once a week for therapy in Edgware at the same time. Some clients decide that they would like to meet twice a week.
Each session lasts for 50 minutes and appointments can be made most weekdays and some evenings.
How long counselling lasts depends on many variables. However, we can agree to certain goals and regularly review progress.
Short term counselling lasts 6 to 12 sessions or long term counselling for an extended period of time.
Your particular difficulties and needs provide the focus for the Initial Consultation. This session will help you to explore your immediate concerns and if counselling or CBT could be of help to you. Strict confidentiality is maintained according to the BACP Code of Ethics. Ongoing session times are 50 minutes long.
Counselling and CBT sessions are offered on weekdays in the day and evenings and some weekend sessions. Session times are flexible to meet client's availability and fit in with their work and personal commitments.
