I can help you as the parent of a child come to terms with diagnosis and help you develop strategies to cope with being the carer as well as being the parent. If you have recently been diagnosed with autism or learning disability, this can be a particularly difficult time. I can help you, as an individual, cope with diagnosis, deal with emotions and develop strategies to help you lead a more fulfilling life.

As well as working in areas of neurodiversity, I also work with individuals who are experiencing panic attacks and severe anxiety, and OCD.

I am also an experienced counselling supervisor and offer supervision to both students and fully practising members.

Clinical Transpersonal Hypnotherapist offering treatment for panic, anxiety, stress and trauma.

I am a Senior Accredited member of the National Counselling Society, a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and adopt their frameworks of good practice and ethical principles.

I have experience with helping people with a wide variety of emotional issues and believe that I can help you move forward with your life in a way that fits and suits you. In addition to this, I also offer relationship counselling and have a good deal of knowledge in this field to help you both move forward and communicate effectively and honestly.

The decision to contact a counsellor is I know and understand (through personal experience) to be a difficult one and in doing so I can assure you that I will treat you with understanding, empathy and honesty.

Office Hours for bookings, cancellations and enquiries Monday, Thursday and Friday 8am to 6pm.   Weekends Unavailable.

I will endeavour to respond within 72 hours in operating hours during Monday to Friday.  Due to the current high demand for my services it can sometimes take up to 1 week to respond to new enquiries.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Senior Accredited member of the National Counselling Society, a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and and adopt their frameworks of good practice and ethical principles.

ASC Assessor for the ASC Pathway Service at the Priory Hospital, Chelmsford

CAMHS and Adult Therapist at the Priory Hospital, Chelmsford.

I have extensive experience as a therapist and I have had the privilege of helping many people in this time.

In addition to being a therapist, I have over 15 years childcare and supporting experience, working with both children and adults who are neurodivergent.

A large part of my work derived from my personal experiences having two children, who are now adults, who were diagnosed with ADHD and ASD.  This journey has not been an easy one and I have a good understanding of the many difficulties that both children and adults face either at school or in society. This experience is invaluable within my field of work and gives me a greater insight and understanding particularly around sensory needs that are so often misunderstood.

In my earlier counselling years I worked as a counsellor and tutor at the Dyslexia Consultancy in Writtle with children and adolescents on the autistic spectrum. During this time I also worked as a counsellor for MIND Counselling Service working with adults and adolescents with moderate to severe mental health and emotional problems.

In addition to being a counsellor I also work as a counselling supervisor. Supervision is provided for both student and qualified counsellors.

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
