About me

You may have felt the need to have Counselling, Therapy or Family Mediation for many different reasons however you may not have searched for someone due to; Stigmas, there are too many different approaches to understand - which one is right for you? financial implications.. to name but a few.

I aim to help you to overcome the reasons for contacting me and explain why I can help you to understand the thoughts and feelings you maybe struggling with.  You may also and hopefully see that in just a short space of time you may start to feel better within yourself, that is what we all want and need in life.

So many people may be carrying many suppressed feelings around with them, which can be painful memories from as far back to childhood experiences which have been locked deep inside for too many years, which may be causing many problems either in a personal or professional capacity, or maybe trying to recover and overcome from a recent incident. It is only when you the client is ready to talk and work through a process of techniques that these feelings and memories move forward to the conscious and are able to be worked with.

This may make you feel anxious about talking in private with a stranger, however I am a trained professional who needs and wants to hear as much as you can share, which will help me to help you in a more productive way.

I offer a mixture of approaches and skills in Person Centred Counselling (PCA) & Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (CBT). Please go to the link on my website to read about the differences in these two approaches, and also a brief introduction about the family mediation I offer. All of which you can talk in private about any issues what may be on your mind, in complete privacy and without being judged.

I work with presenting issues such as;

Anxiety, Trauma, Phobias, Bereavement & Loss, Relationship Issues and Breakdown, Children & Young People (suicidal thoughts, self harm, bullying), Addiction, Crisis Support (Rape & physical violence), Family Welfare (family mediation, a step before divorce)? Homelessness, Financial Hardship, working with clients in private practice or their suited environment.

Private Practice: An initial assessment and consultation with potential new clients has to take place, to ensure that we feel comfortable in working with each other and to establish if I can offer the correct therapy to suit your presenting problem/s.  I hold sessions in a a dedicated therapy room which offers privacy and comfort for your time in Therapy, on a time scale of 6-10 weekly sessions.

Work Place:  I work in depth with Occupational Health Teams, Social Services, Schools, Social Workers, YOT & YOS teams, The Police and Independent Reviewing Officers. I will attend Multi Disciplinary meetings to support the individual upon request.

I offer a corporate service to work with and alongside of Occupational Health Departments (internal or External) and HR departments, from weekly appointments with employees, group work and a set up service for a tailored counselling department.

Group Therapy Sessions can be arranged for and up to a minimum of four persons, when possible.
