About me

Working together we will find a solution that suits you as an individual as opposed to a label - for example, a person might be diagnosed with depression and prescribed antidepressants to alleviate the symptoms, however the therapy we embark on can help you deal with the root cause and in doing so, provide healing. Likewise, someone diagnosed with ADHD may want to gain a greater understanding of how it manifests for them and how it may have impacted their relationships.

Therapy provides an opportunity to facilitate this personal growth and as such develop a different approach to life. This will change how you feel about yourself and others. It can also help you identify patterns and stop you from making the same mistakes over and over if you choose to.

I am trained in Transactional Analysis which works effectively for individuals and for couples counselling.

I offer a Free online consultation for individual work to see if we think we can work together. I work with the symptoms of PTSD, depression, anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder,  trauma, weight issues,  abuse, anger management, bereavement, issues encountered due to neurodivergence or simply because you may be feeling sad.

I set up jubilee counselling in Hampshire before relocating to York in 2015.
In addition to 15 years counselling experience I have 20 years experience working for a large PLC providing coaching, Marketing, business and personal development. This foundation gave me access to first class training and innovative tools that help release potential. I have built upon this wealth of experience to create an integrated therapeutic approach based on individual need. As such, I use a wide range of counselling techniques including evidence based concepts such as CBT, Transactional Analysis, Havening techniques and mindfulness.

I'm a qualified Psychotherapeutic counsellor in Transactional Analysis studies and a member of BACP. I’m also a qualified Havening Practitioner.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
