About me
I have no availability at the moment.
Hello, I'm Kate
I'm a counsellor and psychotherapist with 18 years experience, offering a warm, compassionate space where you can explore whatever you're going through.
Reaching out to a therapist takes courage, but you don't have to have it all figured out, and you will soon feel at ease.
Therapy is a collaborative process, a place to be heard without pressure or judgement, to make sense of your experiences, and reconnect with your own wisdom and resilience.
How I Can Help
I work with adults and teenagers who may be struggling with:
- Depression, low mood, feeling sad
- Low self-esteem and low confidence
- Bereavement, loss, baby loss
- Relationship difficulties, breakups, divorce
- Life transitions, change, moving home, midlife, menopause and perimenopause, starting again, ageing
- Loneliness and disconnection
- Parenting challenges
- Living with health issues
- ADHD
- Teenagers and young people
- Personal growth
- And other things that don't fit in a neat box
Therapy can help you find greater clarity, self-acceptance and emotional balance. It can also support you in making changes, healing and growing into a more confident and grounded version of yourself.
My Approach
My approach is integrative, meaning I draw on complimentary approaches that work well together (gestalt, psychodynamic, person-centred, compassion-focused, CBT and mindfulness). Trained in both counselling and psychotherapy, I tailor the way I work to suit you, rather than offering a one-size-fits-all approach.
I offer short-term therapy, usually up to six months. We'll explore what's happening in your life now, and any deeper patterns or past experiences that might be shaping how you feel.
What to Expect
Our 50-minute weekly sessions (in person or online) are a calm and confidential space to slow down and reflect. You don't need to know where to begin; we'll start wherever you are. My aim is to help you feel supported and understood as you find your own way forward.
If this feels right for you, do get in touch. You are not alone!

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
