About me

I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and have been developing my practise for over 20 years. I work with adults, children and adolescents who are struggling with a wide range of difficulties. I use many different therapeutic models and techniques, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focussed Therapy (CFT) and Mindfulness, with the aim of helping to alleviate people's suffering.

Having worked for the NHS for over 10 years in London and surrounding counties, I now work solely in private practice. My work tends to be online, nationally and internationally, and in person across North Yorkshire and Cumbria. I work with individuals across all age ranges and in school environments. I look forward to working with you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I qualified with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from University College, London (UCL), and since then have completed a number of recognised and accredited training, including a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at the Institute of Psychiatry, London, and Compassionate Mind Training with Professor Paul Gilbert.

I am accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) by for the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).

I worked for over 10 years in the NHS, across a multitude environments including hospitals, secure units, day centres for people with learning disabilities, specialist trauma units for refugees, community mental health teams and latterly, in primary care. I now work solely in private practice, seeing people online, in person and in school environments.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

I also specialise in Mindfulness work, where one can learn to become an observer of ones thoughts and feelings rather than being drowned in a mindset of worry and depression. It is an extremely effective practice for anxiety management, depressive conditions, pain, worry and a number of other difficulties. This can also include meditation training and breathing techniques.
