About me
With over 28 years of experience as a qualified, BACP Accredited Counsellor, I offer a safe, supportive, and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling stuck, counselling gives you the opportunity to move forward and create positive change in your life.
I am a caring and compassionate counsellor who works with each client as an individual. My approach is integrative, drawing on techniques such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis, and Person-Centred Counselling. This means I can adapt our work together to suit your personality and needs. One of my specialisms is CBT, which has been proven to help with anxiety and depression – and I’ve seen many clients successfully overcome negative thought patterns and regain a sense of balance and wellbeing.
I work well with people of all ages, supporting individuals at different stages of life with their unique challenges. I offer both short-term and longer-term counselling, depending on what feels right for you. Alongside my private practice, where I’ve worked for over 25 years, I also have 15 years’ experience counselling in GP surgeries. I am also a BUPA registered practitioner, and many clients access sessions through their health insurance provider.
I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor, which means I have been recognised by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy as meeting their high standards of training, experience, and ethical practice. This accreditation is a mark of quality and professionalism, giving you the reassurance that you are in safe hands.
My aim is always to create a space where you feel comfortable, supported, and understood — so you can begin to untangle what’s troubling you and move towards the change you’re looking for.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
