About me
Online Counselling for Retirement, Loss and Life Change
Mid-life and later life can bring profound change. Retirement, redundancy, divorce, bereavement, health concerns and caring responsibilities may leave us feeling anxious, low, isolated or uncertain about the future. Long-established roles and routines can shift, often in the family, raising difficult questions about identity, purpose, relationships and where we belong. Even positive changes can sometimes leave us feeling adrift or no longer quite ourselves.
My practice is particularly focused on supporting people through the challenges and opportunities of mid-life and later-life transitions. I offer a calm, thoughtful and confidential online space where we can reflect together on whatever you choose to bring. I work alongside you at your pace, listening carefully and helping you make sense of your experiences so that new understanding and possibilities can emerge.
I also support couples adjusting to retirement and later-life change. Shifts in routine, independence, intimacy or shared expectations can place unexpected pressure on even long-established relationships. Counselling can provide a space to think together more openly and constructively about these changes.
These transitions can sometimes affect confidence, self-esteem and our sense of who we are. Whether you are facing a specific difficulty or a more general feeling that life is no longer working as it once did, counselling can offer a space to pause, reflect and find a way forward.
Alongside this work, I support adults at earlier stages of life, including those experiencing relationship difficulties, post-natal depression, career change, anxiety, loss or periods of transition and uncertainty.
I am an accredited counsellor with many years of professional and life experience. Over time, I have seen how thoughtful conversation within a safe and respectful relationship can foster greater clarity, resilience and self-understanding, particularly during periods of significant change.
I work both short-term and longer-term. Some people come with a particular issue they would like support with over a limited number of sessions; others value a more open-ended space for deeper exploration. We can discuss together what may feel most helpful for you.
Online Counselling
I work online via secure video sessions. Many people find online counselling surprisingly effective and appreciate being able to talk from the comfort and privacy of their own home. This can feel especially supportive for those with health concerns, reduced mobility, caring responsibilities, busy lives, or who live in rural areas where access to counselling may be limited.
Many people find that, after the initial adjustment, online counselling feels natural and provides a comfortable space for reflection and conversation.
Online work also offers continuity and flexibility while still allowing a meaningful therapeutic relationship to develop.
I can usually offer an initial 50-minute online session within 24 hours. This gives us the opportunity to meet, talk about what has brought you to counselling, and consider whether working together feels right.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
