I am of South Indian origin, however I have grown up in the UK most of my life and so English is my first language. I have experienced much confusion in my life because of the apparent conflict between the values of my heritage and those which I have grown up with in British society. Due to my personal challenges, I take a careful and considered approach in understanding your cultural frame of reference and work respectfully with it.
I work mainly within the humanistic school of transactional analysis (TA) and am a fully certified Transactional Analyst Psychotherapist (CTA).
I hold an MSc in TA and have over 12 years of practical experience. I also hold a BSc with honours in Cognitive Science and am a member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy, the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and the Institute of Transactional Analysis.
I work with the following issues:
Post traumatic stress syndrome
Stress (general, work and family)
Eating disorders and weight management
Sexual identity conflict
Low self esteem
Cultural identity issues
Addiction drugs and alcohol
I work in different settings. I facilitate groups at the Priory hospital and also see individuals and I also work with an NHS IAPT service. This breadth of experience allows me to work with an expansive set of people from different backgrounds and with varying depth of presentations and conditions.

UK Council for Psychotherapy
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
