When to seek support
You might notice yourself constantly comparing your life to others, feeling anxious about posting or not posting, or experiencing low mood after scrolling. The validation-seeking behaviour can manifest in various ways - from repeatedly checking how many likes your latest post received, to carefully crafting and recrafting a caption to ensure it portrays the 'right' image.
Many clients report feeling trapped in this cycle of comparison and validation-seeking, with some admitting they've missed their train stops or arrived at destinations with no memory of their journey, having been completely absorbed in their social media feeds. These are all common signs that your relationship with social media is affecting your mental health. Remember, seeking support isn't a sign of weakness – it's a step toward better understanding and managing your digital well-being.
