The Dittons Counselling
96 Ditton Road
Counselling can offer a safe space for you to explore such difficult, sometimes painful, issues that may be affecting you. An hour to talk, or to sit and 'just be' with a therapist can be hugely beneficial to one's wellbeing.
I offer both long and short term counselling and psychotherapy tailor-made to you. I take the best and most helpful interventions and philosophies from a variety of approaches, known as integrative counselling, and I can support you in finding helpful ways to work through the challenges you may be facing in life.
As well as a talking therapy, I can work creatively if you wish. This may include listening or playing music, drawing and painting.
As a counsellor, I do not give advice; I provide a safe and confidential space where I can support you in exploring thoughts and feelings in greater depth. The counselling process is a journey of self-awareness and discovery.
I have dealt with a wide range of personal and relationship issues. These include:
stress and anxiety
feelings of sadness and depression
I work in a down to earth, compassionate manner offering empathy and support along the way.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and attained a BA Hons degree from Middlesex University. Throughout my training I attended weekly personal therapy where I was able to explore my own issues and experience what it is like to be ‘the client’.
I have worked in various settings as a counsellor including the NHS and for a charity which provides a specialist counselling service for people with addiction issues, their families and carers. I also volunteered as a child counsellor for the leading national children’s charity Place2be counselling primary school children.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and am qualified to practice as a counsellor and Psychotherapist with adults, young people and children.
