I believe I am a warm, caring and nurturing individual who strives to inspire and empower Children, Young People and Adults. My key aim is to develop individuals self-esteem, personal resilience and positive outlook when faced with demanding circumstances and emotional milestones we may face in life.
I have a nursery nursing background and presently work as a School counsellor in a thriving Primary school working with a host of young people , adults and families in overcoming a variety of emotional barriers and challenging family dynamics that may require a host of unique and specialized counselling techniques to suit the individual needs of the young person, adult and their family.
My wealth of experience enables me to work therapeutically and collaboratively with both the young person and their parent/ carer offering family therapy and valuable family support interventions that will encourage joint resilience, team building and an opportunity to express and explore difficult thoughts and emotions in a safe environment.
Training, qualifications & experience
Through my training programme at Coventry CRUSE (Bereavement Organisation), I work passionately with young people and adults; enabling them to effectively work through the bereavement process at their own pace thus working through the five stages of grief whilst reflecting upon the magnificent work of Elisabeth Kubler-Ross.
I have successfully completed a postgraduate certificate in Creative Therapy with Children and Families. This course has equipped me with the knowledge of creative arts to be used as form of unique therapy which I have found to have been particularly beneficial to the psychological needs of young people and adults; opening up a creative mind-set.
I completed an ABC level three course in ‘Person Centred’ counselling which touched upon Carl Rodgers three core conditions (empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence) this humanistic approach truly values the humanity and genuine being of each individual and works to develops a client's conscious well being in the 'here and now'. Following this course I successfully completed the Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. The psychotherapeutic concept of this type of counselling explores past, present and future issues; both client and therapist work closely throughout therapy sessions in achieving a genuine and realistic goal. This approach may link into key theories such as the attachment theory, Transnational Analysis along with focusing on future interventions enabling a client to realistically adopt a range of cognitive techniques to support both in the present and the future .
I am also a member of the National Counselling Society/BACP, which works to ethical guidelines whilst providing valid professional identity insurance. I also ensure I receive regular supervision empowering me to provide the best possible therapy service to a client.

There are times in life when we feel a 'niggle' or a persistent uncomfortable feeling hanging over us - which does not seem to disappear thus impacting on our daily functioning in everyday life and usual coping methods; life can become a struggle and simple tasks become challenging and emotionally draining; the 'not knowing' and emotional barriers can affect our personal reactions and perceptions of life and others around us .
I offer a non-judgmental and empathetic approach and am here to listen and explore inner thoughts and feelings which may relate to the past, present or future. I am passionate about working at a clients pace with their emotional well-being regarded as paramount at all times throughout the therapeutic process.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
