About us
Ashley Cross Eating Disorders Service (ACEDS) is a specialist multidisciplinary service providing evidence-based treatment for eating disorders across the South West and UK.
Founded in 2021 by Nicole Grilo, Clinical Director and Lead Clinician, ACEDS was created with a clear mission: to deliver accessible, compassionate and clinically grounded care for individuals experiencing anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder and ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder).
We are a carefully selected team of specialist psychological therapists and nutritionists working collaboratively to provide structured, individualised treatment. While ACEDS is a team-based service, Nicole remains actively involved in clinical leadership, treatment planning and oversight to ensure high standards of care.
Our therapeutic approaches include CBT-E, CBT-AR (for ARFID), MANTRA and specialist psychological therapies tailored to the needs of adolescents and adults. Where appropriate, treatment is supported with structured nutritional guidance to ensure a comprehensive and safe recovery process.
We provide primarily online therapy across the South West and UK, with face-to-face appointments available in Christchurch and Southampton.
Seeking support for an eating disorder can feel overwhelming. At ACEDS, our role is to provide clarity, structure and specialist expertise within a safe and collaborative therapeutic environment.
You are welcome to book a confidential 30-minute enquiry call to explore whether our service feels like the right fit for you.

The ACEDS team consists of carefully selected psychological therapists and nutritionists with specialist experience in eating disorder treatment across NHS, private healthcare, charitable and inpatient settings. Our clinicians work with evidence-based approaches including CBT-E, CBT-AR, MANTRA and integrative psychological therapies, alongside structured nutritional support where appropriate.
Collectively, our team supports adolescents and adults and offers guidance for parents and caregivers within a collaborative framework. All clinicians working within ACEDS receive ongoing supervision and clinical oversight to ensure consistent, ethical and evidence-based care.
Member organisations *
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
