About me

Knowing how to move forward under any of these circumstances can be a real challenge. Exploring these concerns within a calm, safe and confidential relationship will help you understand that you do have choices, that you do have the ability to keep going, that you don’t have to “soldier through” and that you do have someone who can support you to become and remain optimistic for change. Having the opportunity to talk to someone who is objective and skilled in motivating people to make improvements in their lives, can help you to become the person you want to be, and live the life you really want to live.

As a Chartered Clinical and Coaching Psychologist, with a background in psychological therapy, clinical supervision and mentoring, executive management, training, executive coaching, business consultancy, conflict resolution and mediation, I have at my disposal evidence-based techniques and methods that will help you recognise your hidden potential, so that you can become the person you want, and deserve, to be.

It can feel daunting seeking help for the challenges you face. You may have questions and concerns that you wish to explore before you feel able to commit. If this is the case, please contact me for a brief informal discussion via email or 07766306316.

I accept self-referrals and referrals via health professionals and some insurance companies.

Training, qualifications & experience

I offer a variety of interventions which are tailored to meet the specific needs of individual clients, couples, families, groups, professionals, teams and organisations. I am trained and experienced in, and have been influenced by many different psychological approaches, which include cognitive behavioural psychology, motivational interviewing, psychodynamic therapy, systemic psychotherapy, mindfulness, neurolinguistic programming and narrative therapy.

Core to my approach to working with my clients is the belief that people do essentially have the ability to address the challenges in their lives, but self-doubts and fears may get in the way of recognising this. My role is to support optimism for change and to enhance their ability to become the best versions of themselves, not the versions that others might want them to be. I believe in a collaborative approach: whilst I am happy to offer advice where necessary, I do not believe in telling or instructing.

The approach I will adopt with you will be tailored to your needs. Some people benefit from a goal-directed approach, whilst others may prefer a more exploratory approach, allowing them to reflect on issues that have arisen in their lives. Either way, I will be committed to supporting you along a path of improvement. Supporting people to have greater self-belief in their own abilities, their own potential to grow and in developing a better future for themselves is my passion.

I offer psychological therapy to help address the following concerns:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Traumatic Reactions and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (special interest in working with emergency services and military personnel, sexual abuse, serious injuries and accidents)
  • Grief, Loss and Bereavement
  • Health Difficulties/Chronic Health Conditions (specialist interest and experience of working with HIV)
  • Sexual and Relationship Difficulties
  • Work-Related Stress relating to: Burnout
  • Discrimination
  • Whistleblowing
  • Bullying
  • Job Loss and Redundancy
  • Organisational, Career or Role Changes
  • Disciplinary or Grievance cases

I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, a Chartered Coaching Psychologist, a Registered Supervisor and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society.

I am licensed with the Health and Care Professions Council and comply with the national Standards of Proficiency for Practitioner Psychologists.

I am a Member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council and adhere to its Code of Ethics.

On an annual basis, I voluntarily arrange for a criminal records check with the Disclosure and Barring Service and I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office, an independent UK authority which ensures confidential information is stored safely and treated in accordance with the Data Protection Act.

I have professional liability insurance with Towergate Insurance, so that I can offer my clients the assurance and peace of mind that they are working with a professional who always places the safety of the public at the heart of their practice.
