Supervision details

I offer supervision, coaching and mentoring to psychological practitioners who wish to develop their clinical skills and careers further. If you are an assistant psychologist, a trainee psychologist or qualified psychologist or psychological therapist from any professional background, I can offer you a series of sessions to help you hold space with your clients, reflect on your relationship dynamics and support you to make sense of their worlds so that you can become a more confident and secure therapist.  I will also offer you the space to think about the challenges you face in your job or career, should you require a discussion about your own future. As a mentor, I am able to offer you guidance based on my career as someone who has worked in a variety of fields and roles, which include forensics, health, management, leadership, service and business development and coping with organisational change. I will help you navigate through potential career choices and explore with you options for enhancing your skillset.

I also offer individual or group-based reflective practice supervision sessions which provide a space for professionals of any background to reflect on the impact of their professional roles on their wellbeing and relationships, and vice versa. Reflective practice supervision sessions are less goal-directed than coaching, as their focus is to build self-awareness in order to enhance personal insights, good practice and personal resilience, which will minimise the impact of the stressors and changes we face in our working lives. Reflective practice supervision will help a group of professionals (such as a team) to build better relationships with each other that are founded on trust and respect for each other’s perspectives. This will enhance team as well as individual performance.

Sessions with individual professions are delivered online via Zoom. Reflective Practice sessions with groups or teams may be delivered online or in person at the workplace of the team.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
