About me
I am a neurodivergent art psychotherapist who often works with neurodivergent people and with higher education students. I work with early relational trauma and/or feelings of judgement or shame, as well as anxiety, depression, and trauma.
I offer a therapy that is adaptive, attentive, and non-judgemental. My goal is to create a space that feels safe, where you will feel heard and supported, and where your needs are noticed and respected.
I tend not to lead the sessions with plans or instructions, but work with what emerges in therapy each session.
I am experienced in offering online therapy and am especially mindful of offering a space for the artmaking so that it is a shared experience, and of recreating both the potential for mess and care for artwork that happens in face-to-face art therapy.
I use they/them pronouns, and my name is pronounced "Zoo laker".
Training, qualifications & experience
- Master in Art Psychotherapy, University of South Wales
Experience in NHS complex psychological interventions, specialist abuse service, trauma therapy, and in working with young people.
I am also a Specialist Mentor in Mental Health, and my work is guided by neuroaffirming and anti-oppressive practice and disability rights.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
