About me
My clinical experience includes working with anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, complex PTSD, dissociation, addiction, self-harm and suicidal ideation, as well as a range of neurodevelopmental and special educational needs. I have particular experience supporting children and young people with autism, ADHD, OCD, selective mutism, speech and language difficulties and PDA.
My approach is informed by analytical and psychodynamic thinking, alongside further specialist training in trauma and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). I aim to create a therapeutic relationship that feels safe, thoughtful and collaborative, allowing space to explore experiences that can sometimes be difficult to put into words.
Art Psychotherapy offers the opportunity to work both verbally and creatively. You do not need to consider yourself ‘artistic’ or have any previous experience with art. Creative work can be used in different ways within therapy, depending on what feels appropriate for you, and can provide another way of exploring thoughts, feelings and experiences alongside talking.
I have worked across specialist mental health services, schools, acute mental health settings and community services, and currently also work as a Designated Mental Health Lead across three schools. This breadth of experience has given me an understanding of the different ways emotional and psychological difficulties can affect people at different stages of life.
I offer a confidential and non-judgemental space where we can work together at a pace that feels manageable for you. We can think together about what has brought you to therapy, what you would like to understand or change, and whether Art Psychotherapy feels like the right form of support.
I am HCPC and BAAT registered and hold an MA in Art Psychotherapy and a BA in Illustration.
