About me
Hello, I'm Zainab and I work as a Psychodynamic Counsellor. This means that we are able to work through your issues by creating a relationship that will allow us to look at the root of your problems, within a space that welcomes your authentic self. I aim to offer an environment in which you feel contained, accepted and safe, and I look forward to hearing your unique story from your perspective, so that we may explore and seek to understand what has made you, you. From this we can strive to work out a way of being that feels true, and real.
I feel strongly about welcoming every person who I meet with curiosity and acceptance of their values and beliefs, no matter what their background. I am open to exploring differences and diversity and how this has shaped your story. I am also open to hearing about your spiritual self if that is something you wish to explore.
Our story is what leads us to become the unique individuals that we are. I invite you to bring your whole self so that we can work together with curiosity and openness to embark upon a journey of discovery, acceptance and understanding so that you feel able to hold the pen that writes your story.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Psychodynamic Counsellor, and I trained at The University of Oxford, holding a post graduate diploma since 2023.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
