Individuals/Couples, Relationships, Addiction & ADHD

About me

I work with individuals and couples where relationship struggles are at the centre of what brings them to therapy, whether those struggles involve communication breakdown, conflict, infidelity, or the impact of addiction or ADHD on the relationship.

Individuals

I work with people who are struggling in their relationships. This could be from:

  • conflict and communication breakdown
  • infidelity
  • separation or divorce
  • the impact of ADHD or addiction on relationships

Through talk therapy, we work together to uncover the root causes, and fears that are underneath the struggles that keep playing out.

Couples

I offer couples therapy for partners struggling with communication, conflict, infidelity or the strain that addiction or ADHD can place on a relationship. Using the Gottman Method, I help couples slow down, remove the criticism and defensiveness, and start communicating differently. I offer standard 50-minute weekly sessions as well as 1-hour-50-minute Couples Intensive sessions for those who want the time and space to get to the heart of issues without the constraints of a shorter session.

Single Session Therapy

For those who want to talk through a specific issue without committing to ongoing work, I offer 50-minute or 1-hour-50-minute single sessions. These are available on short notice and held online.

Training and experience

I have additional training in working with relationships, ADHD and addiction. I also volunteer with an addiction charity, giving me a grounded, practical understanding of how addiction affects both the person and the people around them.

Living abroad - TCKs, expats and repats

Having lived abroad as both a child and an adult, I bring personal insight into the challenges of identity, belonging and the loneliness that can come with frequent moves. I work with adult Third Culture Kids, expats and repats navigating these experiences.

Sessions are available online or in-person. I always work at a pace that's right for you, and you will not be expected to talk about anything you're not ready for. I offer a free 20-minute consultation where you can ask any questions. Book a free introductory call today and let's talk.

Training, qualifications & experience

I spent many years living abroad as a child (third culture kid) and spent time living abroad as an adult (expat). Having worked in the corporate world, I decided on a change of career after my divorce in 2012.

I initially trained as an Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT Tapping) Practitioner and later trained as a psychotherapist and hypnotherapist during the pandemic.

Using EFT tapping, I've helped people with alcohol addiction, anxiety, breakups, pain management and trauma.

As a psychotherapist I love to work with individuals and couples with relationship issues, but with my experience, I also have a special interest when these relationship issues are caused by addiction, trauma, grief, ADHD or due to being an adult child of an addict.

As a hypnotherapist, I have helped people stop smoking, lose weight, manage pain, and have recently trained in using hypnosis for addiction.

I'm a volunteer psychotherapist at a local addictions centre where I help clients working through addiction alongside other issues such as relationships, ADHD, menopause and pain management to name a few.

I'm a qualified Menopause Wellness Coach and help people to set goals and work towards a healthy menopause journey.

ADHD is also an interest of mine. Because of this I have undertaken training in this area to support others with ADHD.
