About me

Kind therapy for kinder minds. A kinder space to be yourself.

A very warm welcome,

I’m Yasmin (she/her) of Kinder Minds Inclusive Therapy. I’m a mixed-race and anti-oppressive integrative therapeutic counsellor. I hold a degree in Psychology and a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I offer counselling and therapy online and in-person in the Worthing area.

Life can feel overwhelming, but let’s lighten the load together.

I'm passionate about supporting people in their journey of self-awareness and personal growth. Therapy with me is kind, thoughtful and inclusive. I hope to help you feel kind in your mind and body. Together, we will explore how you relate to yourself and the world around you, and where that leaves room for change.

Exploring your past to understand your present

As an integrative therapist, I draw upon different approaches and tailor my approach to your unique needs, goals and preferences. However, I’ll always follow your lead- whatever you bring to our sessions is what we’ll explore.

In our work together, we’ll take a holistic approach by exploring your current experiences and gently look at how the patterns of your past shape your current feelings, experiences and relationships.

We may make mind-body connections, and if it feels right, we may also use some creative techniques (no ‘skills’ required!)

Although I’m integrative by training, I’m relational at core. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship - I believe healing happens in a relationship. I strive to create a trusting, warm, collaborative and accepting relationship where you feel deeply heard and understood. Our space will offer you the chance to slow down, explore, reflect, understand and grow.

Anti-oppressive, anti-racist and anti-capitalist therapy

As a multi-racial therapist, I care deeply about social justice and inclusivity. Therapy with me is anti-oppressive, anti-racist, LGBTQIA+ affirmative, neuro-affirming and sex-work positive. You are valued here- you can explore who you are without judgement or justification.

I also hold space for the environment and contexts in which a person experiences their distress. I recognise that emotional difficulties may be adaptive responses that are rooted in survival. Your struggles do not stem from personal failure, but from societal inequalities and barriers as well as the systemic pressures of capitalism. Together we’ll look at your unique context and help you build resilience, self-worth and find meaning outside of the system.

Walk and Talk Therapy

I also offer Walk and Talk therapy in the Worthing area - this can be a great option for those who feel connected to nature or for those who may not like the potential intensity felt in face-to-face conversation. We may also use and bring nature into our conversations.

If I sound like a good fit for you, then I look forward to connecting with you. Or if you're curious to know more, I offer a free 15-minute introductory chat

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
