About us
We offer a comprehensive range of psychology services, including therapy, assessments, workplace training, professional supervision and consultation for psychologists, as well as forensic psychology and expert witness services for courts and legal matters.
If you're feeling stuck, low, overwhelmed, or disconnected, West Psychological Services can help. Our team supports people coping with depression, anxiety, dissociation, and PTSD symptoms such as intrusive memories and difficulty trusting others. We'll work with you to understand how your past may be shaping your relationships and how you see yourself. With personal experience of a late ADHD diagnosis, our director Jo is passionate about supporting those who are neurodivergent or exploring whether ADHD may be relevant. We also offer a range of assessments to help you understand yourself, including ADHD and PTSD assessments.
We also offer therapy to those in the criminal justice system and provide expert witness reports to support individuals whose psychological experiences may be relevant to their legal proceedings. If you are facing legal consequences, we can help you navigate the system and address behaviours causing you difficulty, so you can lead a happier, harm-free life.
We'd love to hear from you. Whether you have a question or just want to find out more, please get in touch. There's no pressure and no wrong question. We know that reaching out can feel like a big step, and we want you to know that's okay. Our therapists will work with you to create a safe, supportive space, tailoring their approach to suit your needs.

Jo West is a Consultant Forensic Psychologist running West Psychological Services. She has extensive expertise completing expert witness reports. She regularly prepares psychological risk assessments for Parole Board hearings involving Life and IPP sentenced prisoners, as well as comprehensive assessment reports to assist with sentencing. Her reports address sexual and violent offending, cognitive functioning, personality disorders, mental health conditions, and neurodevelopmental factors, providing the courts with rigorous, evidence-based psychological analysis.
Jo works therapeutically with a diverse range of clients navigating different challenges and life circumstances. She has particular expertise supporting adults with mental health difficulties including depression, anxiety, trauma histories and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. She is passionate about working with those with ADHD or autism, seeking assessment and support, and those navigating neurodivergence alongside mental health challenges. Jo also supports victims of crime in processing trauma and working towards recovery, as well as individuals in the criminal justice system seeking to understand and change harmful behaviours. She has experience working with people struggling with personality difficulties, complex relational patterns, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and emotional regulation challenges. Throughout her career, she has developed specific expertise working with diverse client groups including men, women, and transgender service users in both community and secure settings.
Jo draws on a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities and all of her therapeutic work is neuro-affirmative. She believes that therapy should be shaped around who you are, not the other way around.
