About us
West Psychological Services is a team of qualified psychologists based in Leeds, offering both in-person and remote support across the UK.
Our team is led by Jo West, Consultant Forensic Psychologist and founder, who brings over 16 years of experience. Jo is HCPC-registered and passionate about delivering compassionate, person-centred care, particularly for those who are neurodivergent or navigating the criminal justice system.
Emily is a Senior Forensic Psychologist with over 20 years' experience providing psychological therapy to adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. She works with individuals affected by trauma, anxiety, depression, personality difficulties, and the long-term impact of adverse life experiences. Emily is particularly interested in how earlier life experiences shape the patterns that influence how we think, feel, and relate to others.
Laura is a Senior Forensic Psychologist with over 18 years of experience supporting people through complex emotional and psychological difficulties, including 15 years within secure settings. She has specialist experience working with children and young people who have experienced early trauma and attachment difficulties, and holds expertise in supporting young people at risk of Child Sexual Exploitation.
Rachel is a Chartered and HCPC-registered Forensic Psychologist, qualified since 2017, with over 15 years of experience in therapeutic settings. She has extensive experience in psychological assessment, formulation, and therapeutic intervention across secure environments and mental health services. Rachel has a particular passion for working with trauma and complex emotional needs, and is also able to offer specialist support to individuals with offending histories or those navigating complex life circumstances.
In addition to therapy, West Psychological Services offers a comprehensive range of assessment and report writing services. We produce expert witness reports for both civil and criminal legal proceedings, and carry out mental health assessments for occupational health purposes and ill health retirement. We also offer general mental health and personality assessments, as well as ADHD assessments.
Together, our team supports individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD, dissociation, trauma, and personality and relational difficulties. We work with people from all walks of life, including those in the criminal justice system, mental health settings, and the wider public. All of our psychologists are HCPC-registered and hold up-to-date DBS checks and professional indemnity insurance.
