About me

I am a qualified Relational Integrated Psychotherapist

I work chiefly from a Humanistic/Person Centred base where client and their world are the starting point. I am Integrated therapist, I incorporate other modes of therapy to so suit client needs: Psychodynamic, Relational, Existentialism and CBT. I am also Lecturer in Psychology. I have been working with children and adults for over 25 years.

My approach to therapy is concerned with individual growth and the relational needs of a person: the self, others we care about and the things we value and need. My work embraces creative practices, writing and image making, Buddhism and Existential ideas, I am qualified Shamanic Practitioner and hold ideas of soul and spirit within the therapy. I aim to assist the client in becoming an authentic and self accepting individual, who can practice choice over whatever life may throw, with kindness, heart and courage.

Couples Counselling: I work with all personal difficulties in relationship. Relationship breakdowns, family struggles and elderly support, struggles within partnerships, those in a long term partnership or marriage, or those wishing to alter their personal lives. All relationship identities welcomed and sexual orientations, lgtbqi, kink and bdsm friendly.

Anxiety and Self Esteem: techniques to cope with anxiety and stress and ways to come to terms with inner conflict, based on self acceptance and understanding. Focusing on how you learn to cope and then thrive, in our increasing busy world and its demands.

Children and Young People: I have 25 years experience of working with children and young people, both as a Psychotherapist and Teacher. Working creativity to assist the young person to express and tackle any areas that they may need support with: from school, to family environments to issues related to identity and personal distress.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
