About me
I am a qualified counsellor and have worked with adolescents and adults, including the elderly for over 20 yrs. My practice is at Chipping Norton Health Centre where I see clients face-to-face. I also offer sessions via zoom and telephone.
I create a safe space for you and critically non judgmental and empathetic. Sessions are confidential and last 50 mins from 9.00am to 8.00pm Monday to Friday. I also offer a free telephone consultation where we can discuss your needs and expectations. I will then work using a range of therapies to meet these for you as an individual. The person-centred approach is my preference for building trust and helping you to feel safe. I am also often asked for specific approaches for instance CBT.
These are your sessions and we having built a therapeutic relationship built on trust we will be able to work at a deeper level.
The areas I work with include depression, anxiety, lack of confidence/self esteem, attachment, relationship problems, behavioural problems, self-harm, life changes for instance changing schools, jobs and bereavement. These can affect us at any time in our lives and can be present or in our pasts. Also sometimes we are unhappy but not sure why.
When you come you may be feeling nervous about talking to a stranger but I am always told how much this has helped as it gives you the opportunity to say how you really feel and think and feel knowing you will not be judged and together we will explore these to help you understand why this is. Understanding will allow you to make changes in the present and for the future, and even about how your feel about past events.
I also offer a reduced rate for student counsellors.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
