About me
Hello, I am Wendy, a qualified personal centred therapist and member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy).
I believe that by working with someone in a space that is theirs, with a non-judgemental attitude and the support that therapy offers, it can be a truly revelatory experience, for both of us.
I can work either face to face or remotely. All you need is yourself, your thoughts and a quiet space if we are remote.
I use rooms in Colne that are up two flights of stairs.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a qualification in therapeutic counselling using a person centred approach, otherwise known as talking therapy.
I have worked with people with varying issues. I believe an important aspect of therapy working is the relationship, so encourage all my clients to ensure this is the right type of therapy with the right therapist.
I have completed training involving working with children, trauma informed training and suicide awareness training. I continually strive to gain as much knowledge as I can that will help me, and therefore my clients who are working with me.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information
We can have an initial consultation so you can see if talking therapy is right for you, if you are comfortable talking with me and ask any questions. This is free.
Sessions after that are payable with a 50% deposit, if you have to cancel for any reason then as long as it is up to 24 hours before this is refundable, otherwise I cannot refund.
I do not ask for any commitment to an amount of sessions and will work as flexibly as possible if you have varying availability.
