About me

I am a qualified counsellor who adopts a person-centred approach. It is a privilege for me to support my clients as they embark on their journeys of self-discovery, enhance their self-esteem, overcome challenges, and initiate new paths in their lives. I have a strong passion for working with individuals who have faced trauma.

You may find yourself in the company of many yet still experience a profound sense of isolation. It is possible to express your emotions in a crowded space and remain unnoticed. A significant portion of your life may be spent attempting to conform to someone else's expectations, leaving you feeling inadequate or disconnected from your authentic self. There may be an underlying sense that something is amiss, even if you cannot precisely identify it, yet you are aware that it does not feel right. The journey toward self-discovery, personal growth, enacting change, and fostering meaningful relationships with others can be daunting and unfamiliar. I have come to understand that painful and traumatic experiences do not diminish or disappear over time. However, with appropriate support, it is possible to outgrown it.

I am here to support you as you explore the past experiences that you have felt hesitant to confront for an extended period, or that you have been reluctant to share with those around you.

Training, qualifications & experience

Person-centred Counselling (Hons) - University of Brighton

Person-centred counselling Foundation degree - University of Brighton

I possess an experience addressing a variety of subjects, including sexual and domestic abuse, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal ideation, low self-esteem, post-traumatic stress, and spirituality. In our collaboration, you will have the opportunity to express yourself freely, without fear of judgment or the necessity for validation from myself or others. This environment is designed for your comfort, allowing you to prioritize your own perspective without the pressure to conform to anyone else's expectations. I will provide a supportive and secure atmosphere where you can explore what is most beneficial for you personally.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
