MBACP, Adult, Child and Youth Counsellor

About me

I'm here to support you, whether you're an adult, child, or young person, understanding that issues such as anxiety, low mood/depression, struggles with self-esteem, and life transitions can be challenging and can have a real impact on daily life.  I have worked through similar challenges and situations which I feel enriches the work we can do together.

How can counselling help?

Imagine having a safe haven where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment and at your own pace. That's what counselling can provide. It's a collaborative partnership where I'll listen and endeavour to fully understand, helping you make sense of experiences and issues that have been affecting you. Together, we can focus on what's important to you, as you work towards positive change and a greater sense of well-being.

How can I help you?

Building a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my approach. As an integrative counsellor with lived experience, I offer a holistic and relational style which draws from different theories and techniques to meet your individual needs with a trauma-informed approach. When working with children and young people (CYP), I use play, psychoeducation, and creative methods to help make therapy accessible and enjoyable.

I am committed to inclusive practice and have extensive experience supporting individuals with neurodiversity, particularly children and young people aged 11-25. My counselling experience, together with my diverse professional and personal background, enriches my understanding and informs my ethical and client-centred approach to therapy.

My aim is to create a nurturing and understanding environment where I hope you will feel truly seen and heard.  While strong emotions can be evoked from exploring issues, the process can create a sense of relief, and clients can begin to feel more balanced and happy, with an increased sense of energy, renewed motivation, and a feeling of empowerment as they move forward.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
