About me

I'm Vicki, a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I have over 3 years of professional experience with a rich background of previous experience in various roles within the NHS. Working with remarkable patients and colleagues has fueled my passion for enhancing both mental and physical well-being, leading me to pursue a career in counselling. Throughout my training and work, I have witnessed both professionally and personally the benefit of having a facilitated safe, supported, confidential therapeutic space to explore past, present and future complexities, with acceptance and compassion.

Practice description

I understand that beginning this journey can be challenging, often bringing feelings of anxiety, indecision, or fear. These emotions are natural when contemplating change. In a warm, caring environment, I offer support and empathy. Together, we will explore how your feelings and experiences shape your thoughts and actions, helping you understand yourself better. This process will empower you to find your own solutions and live a more resourceful life. Alternatively, I can simply provide a non-judgmental, confidential ear, offering the understanding and acceptance you may not find elsewhere. I aim to know you as a whole person, recognising that your difficulties and your life experiences do not define you or the future. I don’t offer advice, I trust that you know what's best for you. However, I will support you every step of the way as you embark on a journey to discover the life you want and deserve. I work predominantly in a person-centred way integrating many different therapeutic approaches. The many issues I work with:

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
