About me

I offer a professional service to help you gain a healthy mind through Integrative Counselling and Havening Techniques©

Giving yourself the freedom to talk and explore negative thoughts that may dominate, can help you to free your mind allowing you to move beyond unhelpful repetitive patterns of behaviour.

You may want to know why you feel and react in certain ways. Unhelpful thoughts can lead to anxiety, stress, anger, depression and low self esteem, creating the feeling of being unable to find a way through. Negative feelings impact on our health and relationships, both at home and in the workplace.

By having the opportunity to talk in confidence , you can explore upsetting ways of thinking and feeling, releasing new understanding, and stronger self awareness, allowing you to live your life more effectively, more fully, and with joy instead of apprehension and self doubt.

If you have a phobia, such as a fear of spiders, or have been affected by traumatic events that create repetitive disturbing memories, I can introduce you to gentle Havening Techniques, recently discovered in the field of Neuro Science.  This gentle but very effective technique can be implemented to help disconnect disrupting memories stored in the brain, permanently removing the emotional memory, permanently freeing you from past events. You can also learn how to calm yourself through Self-Havening at any time, anywhere.

I recognise the importance of having a good working alliance between the client and myself and value each client as a unique person.

I value confidentiality, and client autonomy.

I offer a comfortable counselling environment in a private and confidential setting close to Faversham town centre and rail station.

Please call or email me, and I will get in touch.

Sessions can be held face to face, over the phone or online.

" Victoria has been wonderful. I've tried counselling before and couldn't connect. This time I couldn't recommend it more. Havening has been so good, I will continue to use it in the future".  M.B.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been interested in the workings of the human mind since the mid 90's when I began my own journey of self discovery, prompted to attend a Psychology workshop by good friends.

I work within an Integrative framework as a fully qualified Integrative Psychodynamic Counsellor, both privately and within the NHS IAPT environment.

I am also a Certified Havening Practitioner, (2019) enabling transformational techniques based on emerging discoveries in Neuroscience.

I facilitate self awareness training programmes, and have promoted personal psychology workshops in Kent since 2005.

I work Holistically, recognising connections between our mind and body, how you can find answers though psycho-education, learning why you think the way you do, so you  can live an effective and satisfied life. You can learn to become aware of your intuition, and to utilise the power of the natural energy of life.

I work either short term within a solution focused framework, or long term.

I also offer a one-off session, if quick guidance is needed.

These can be discussed at our initial meeting, depending on your needs

I have experience working with a broad range of issues including bringing relief from:    Anxiety, Trauma, Historical traumatic memories, Anger management, Nightmares, Relationship issues,  Personal Development, Core issues from childhood, Phobias, Stress, Depression, Bereavement and Loss,  Self esteem, Self confidence, Work related stress, and Sleeping issues.

Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling,

Graduate of the Psychology of Vision International Training Program.

Certified Havening Techniques Practitioner since March 2019, a new biologically based process, through which the brain can heal encoded trauma and negative thought patterns.

I have trained and practised as a Certified Cruse Bereavement Volunteer, and have completed many of their trainings.

I am keen to learn, and attend regular workshops and seminars, so I can pass these new skills on to my clients.

I have  attended global Psychology of Vision workshops since 2001, travelling to trainings in Canada, India, Spain and Hawaii.

I am an Accredited Registered Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.

I am fully insured, with a present Enhanced DBS and attend regular supervision.

My Practice is in central Faversham, within a quiet private courtyard, with public parking nearby, and a few minutes walk from the Rail Station.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
