About me

I offer a professional service to help you gain a healthy mind through both Integrative Counselling and Havening©Techniques.

People come to me for gentle help and guidance. You may be affected by feeling anxious, be stressed by events at work or home, have depression without knowing it, or have difficult relationship issues.  I think we are all unsure of what going 'back to normal' means. Being stuck with negative thoughts often leads to feeling unable to bring about change without some effective counselling.

I offer a compassionate, empathic, down to earth and non-judgemental approach within a confidential and private location.

With Psychodynamic Counselling we can look at why you think and feel the way you do, often through past,  hidden experiences that may be affecting you now. By understanding where early beliefs come from gives you have the power and opportunity to bring about change.

Havening Techniques, are a calming, powerful, restorative and scientifically proven way of bringing you relief from anxiety, stress, and phobias, and in many cases, permanently removing trauma.

Please call or email me, and I will get in touch.

General Matters

Negative thoughts impact on our minds, causing anxiety, depression and stressful situations. Sometimes we can feel so low that we lose meaning to our lives.

Change is possible through talking about what's on your mind, understanding why you have worrying thoughts, and where they come from.

I feel that we could all appreciate an M.O.T. for the mind. Therapy is our workbench.

By using counselling and psycho-educational coaching skills, and with your intention to find healing, it's possible to reach the understanding of why you think the way you do. Havening Touch, based in the field of Neuro science, helps bring resolution and resilience towards positive lasting change, and contented, happy relationships.

By working together we can enable you to reach new knowledge and understanding, so you think differently, encouraging positive change, and opening up avenues of exciting new potential. Also, by understanding hidden patterns of behaviour, you can make better choices, taking you forwards towards resolving your anxieties, and having more self-confidence. Discovering new and empowering life changing self-awareness can make a difference to your life and those around you.

I am a practising Certified HaveningTechniques Practitioner.

Havening Techniques are a rapid, gentle and effective approach for helping people overcome anxiety based problems. Distressing feelings such as intermittent panic, stress from trauma, fears, depression, addictions and other related issues are amenable to Havening. In addition, Havening Touch helps develop states of emotional wellbeing and resiliency. The mind/body holds memories, and sometimes these memories create symptoms, maybe even flashbacks, that interrupt our daily lives. Through a simple protocol,  a gentle touch of arms, face and hands, we can produce Delta Waves deep within the mind, the result being that the encoded negative ideas and traumas can be altered, so the effects can be removed from our system. This removal changes both the underlying stressor, and the individual's response.

I offer sessions specific to Havening, and teach you how to Self Haven.

Sessions can be taken face to face, over the phone or online.

Havening Techniques are the result of research by Dr Ron Ruden, an MD in NY USA.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been interested in the workings of the human mind since the mid 90's when I began my own journey of self discovery, prompted to attend a Psychology workshop by good friends.

I work within a Humanistic framework as a fully qualified Integrative Psychodynamic Counsellor, both privately and within the NHS IAPT environment. I am also a Certified Havening Practitioner, enabling transformational techniques based on emerging discoveries in Neuro Science.

I facilitate self awareness training programmes, and have promoted psychology workshops in Kent since 2005.

I work Holistically, recognising connections between our mind and body, how we can utilise the power that is greater than ourselves, and the natural energy of life.

I work either short term within a solution focused framework of 6-12 sessions, or long term. These can be discussed at our initial meeting, depending on your needs.

I also offer a one-off session, if quick guidance is needed.

I have experience working with a broad range of issues including

Relationship issues

Personal Development

Core issues from childhood

Bereavement and Loss

Self esteem

Self confidence

Work related stress

Sleeping issues

I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling,  and am a Graduate of the Psychology of Vision International Training Program.

I am a Certified Practitioner of a new biologically based process, Havening Touch, through which the brain can heal encoded trauma and negative thought patterns.

I have trained and practised as a Certified Cruse Bereavement Volunteer, and have completed many of their trainings.

I am keen to learn, and attend regular workshops and seminars, so I can pass these new skills on to my clients. I have also attended global psychology workshops since 2003.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, and Accredited Member of The National Counselling Society.

I am fully insured, with a present DBS and attend regular supervision.

My Practice is in central Faversham, within a quiet private courtyard, with public parking nearby, and a few minutes walk from the Rail Station.
